About Steve Maguire, M.Ed.
Boring lecture? You obviously haven't seen Steve speak.
Steve's mission as a professional speaker is to provide fun, professional and inspiring presentations for all clients. Speaking and training in the primary fields of schools and summer camps, Steve's audiences range from summer camp staff and administrators to school faculty, students, athletes and parents.
Steve and Jess, his wife, are the parents of 4 children... Nolan (9), Emmitt (7), Greta (5) and Scotia (4) and Frances their chocolate lab (11). He brings the perspective that only a parent can bring to working with students and campers.
22 years of 'first hand' experience
Steve has been a full time school teacher for 22 years. He teaches Meteorology, Astronomy, Environmental Science, Forensics, Oceanography and Ornithology at Scituate High School in Scituate, MA. In his teaching career, he has taught high school and middle school. Teaching in a classroom and being on the “front lines” with kids is part of what makes Steve so credible to his audiences. Participants in Steve’s work consistently say he “gets it” when it comes to working with kids.
Dynamic, Fun, Engaging
In 2004 Steve started his own professional speaking business because he saw a need for dynamic, fun and educational programs in both the academic and camp setting. Since then, over 900 schools and summer camps across the United States have brought him in to work with their faculty and staff. He has the perfect blend of humor and energy. His audiences consistently describe him as “dynamic,” “hilarious” and “engaging.”
Steve has written numerous articles for Education and Camping magazines across the United States and Canada. He is the author of two books. 23 Ways to Maximize Your School Relationships and Not the Way You Have Always Done It, with Sarah Kurtz Mckinnon.
